Custom or Commission?

The following are my own definitions of the terms and requests are categorized at my discretion.

Custom plushies are plushies that follow the basic pattern of previously made plushies, with a choice of options for details, ie. colours, wing shape, etc. They may include small modifications, but no significant changes to the  base pattern.

Commissions are anything that goes beyond customisation of a pre-existing pattern, including any significant re-patterning, custom fabrics or more complex techniques.

Prices for commissions are typically higher than for custom plushies.

Pricing

I try to keep my pricing as fair and transparent as possible. Pricing accounts for:

- Material costs include fabric, stuffing, thread, etc.

- Cost of manufacture, eg.  electricity, embroidery machine upkeep, needles, stabilizer, and other items required for optimal sewing.

- Time. The majority of my plushies are hand sewn with machine applied detailing. This means that each plush is extremely time consuming and made with a high level of care and attention. As such, I endeavour to pay myself a fair wage for my work.

Prices do not include shipping unless otherwise specified.

Payment

I accept payment via PayPal. Alternatively, I can create a personal listing on my Ko-Fi Shop.

Payment arrangements are subject to the specifics of each plush. Personalised plushies that cannot easily be rehomed will typically require a deposit. If foregoing a deposit, I reserve the right to rehome plushies elsewhere should the necessity arise. However, I will only do this after exhausting all other options and would much rather each plushie go to their intended home!

I am not currently in a position to accept payment plans, but if you have any concerns about pricing or payment, I'm open to discussing options so that you are always left with a smile on your face!

All of the above are subject to change and any adjustments are made at my discretion.

Prices are always finalised before a commission is formally accepted. This means once a price is agreed upon, it is guaranteed. If I underestimate the work involved in a commission, the final price will still never exceed the previously agreed upon price unless proposed by the client. However, for transparency and future expectation, I will endeavour to clearly inform of any miscalculations on my part. This is not to guilt you, but to make sure there's no disappointment if prices are higher in future!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why no labels?

A: I personally find labels can cause some sensory issues, and I never ever want to compromise the comfort and safety that my plushies bring for the sake of advertising, so I have chosen to only add labels as a name tag when requested.

Q: Are your prices negotiable/can I get a freebie/discount?

A: I discuss prices prior to accepting plush requests, and am happy to modify or simplify, within reason, in order to keep my beloved plushies accessible. I don't want price to be a barrier!

That being said, all prices are set at my discretion and as I value both my time and my creations, I do not accept requests for freebies, nor do I exchange plushies for advertising or exposure, although I am very much flattered by the interest!

Q: Why don't you do seasonal sales?

A: Honestly, it's a little too much for me to keep up with!

It's also possible to miss out due to when you're paid, being busy, unwell, executive dysfunction; there's just so many reasons why somebody may not be able to buy while things are discounted that it feels a little unfair.

In addition, I already try to keep my prices as fair to everybody as possible, but that includes me. If I were to do regular discount events, I would no longer be fair to myself!
